Skin Beauty Bar is synonymous with high end beauty services in DC – and its Owner and Lead Aesthetician, Ms. Meka Mathis, recently spoke of the magic of “keeping it fresh” in a dazzling profile  of her business on the DC lifestyle website Hillrag.

“It’s been a pleasure talking about the origins of Skin Beauty Bar and the fact that it was the first spa service provider in the neighborhood” said Ms. Mathis. “We are now gearing up for the 2018 Christmas season, and, so far, eyelash extensions, facials and massages have been in hot demand. Our clients book well ahead of time, seeing as we are quite busy around the holidays. It’s a great time for pampering, and it’s something that always makes our clients not only look radiant but feel confident, too, while they spend treasured time with friends and loved ones in various holiday parties and gatherings.”

Ms. Mathis, whose passion for all things beauty led her to founding Skin Beauty Bar after her return to DC post her graduation from New York City’s Parson’s School of Design, counts 20 years of experience in the field, and employs some of the best aestheticians and massage therapists in the area who work alongside her at Skin Beauty Bar’s 700 block premises.

Speaking to Hillrag’s reporter, Ms. Mathis said she “takes pride” in her thriving business, and revealed that she visits spas around the world to get informed on emerging beauty treatments that she can then offer to Skin Beauty Bar’s loyal clientele.

At the time of writing, Skin Beauty Bar clients can enjoy a broad range of beauty services and treatments, including facials, waxing, massage, body treatments, airbrush tanning, eyebrow/lash tint, eyelash extensions, ear candling, teeth whitening, microblading and even vajazzling. In addition to individual beauty sessions, Skin Beauty Bar can accommodate, upon arrangement, parties for up to 40 clients; while it also offers special packages for brides and vacations.

Skin Beauty Bar (Second Floor 749 Eighth St. SE, Washington, DC) is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., as well as select Mondays and Tuesdays.
